Susan Bond and Dan Murphy were recognized for their outstanding contributions to Ecosystem Restoration in the East Kootenay's Rocky Mountain Trench. The Kootenay Conservation Program awarded both Susan and Dan their 2019 Conservation Leadership Award for the East Kootenays at the KCP's Fall Gathering in Invermere on October 4, 2019. Together, Susan and Dan helped shepherd the ER Program generating millions of dollars worth of employment and restoration activities to grasslands and open forests in the Trench. Dan retired from the Rocky Mountain Trench Natural Resources Society in June, 2018 and Susan unfortunately passed away June 30, 2018 after a brief illness.
