Two news items from Columbia Mountain Institute of Applied Ecology

January 27th 2026

The Columbia Mountain Institute of Applied Ecology has just send out a news release to let the public know that after a great group-effort, they have a summary document for you from our gathering in October:  What’s the Future of Grasslands and Rangelands in the East Kootenay?   This document contains a list of recommendations which are a snap-shot of what we heard, discussed and learned from you at this gathering.

The document can be found on the event webpage, linked to above.  Please feel welcome to share!   Please also continue your good work by coming together and helping to make the recommended actions reality.

As opportunities to work together come to the forefront, please let CMIAE  know if you'd like to stay in the loop. Similarly, if there are activities taking place you would like to share with this group, let Hailey and the CMIAE group know.

The second note is to announce a new series of Columbia Region Ecological Discussions (CRED talks) The 2026 season of talks are now open for registration!
